Picking some rose hips

As I been writing about roses and rose hips before her on my blog, now it is time to pick them, and write about it. The red berries are full of vitamins and lot of other good stuff.

The once so beautiful wild roses have now become Rose hips, and they are so good to use for a soup, we call it Nyponsoppa.

I cook the berries in some water until they become really soft and mushy. Then I sieves the hips and use what is left. I add some sugar and more water with what is left and cook it some more, I add some potato flour to get a thicker soup. You could serve it cold or hot.

Se the roses here in an earlier blogspot:

My forest

Maybe it's not really my forest but I go here often, it is so relaxing. But I have a problem with finding my way out of the forest, so I have to be careful not to gest lost....

Here you have a big pine tree and a bush with wild roses, among other things.

Wild roses

Love all wild flowers, especially if they are beautiful like these roses, Rosa Canina I think it is called in English.

In the autumn they give us some lovely fruits - Rose hip, not to eat directely but to cook and make a sweet soup of, we call it Nyponsoppa.

The old oak tree and roses

Now when the winter is coming any day now, it's cold but not snowy yet, I start to think about all the nice tings of summer.

Like this beautiful old oak tree. I take my walks here and watch it all the seasons. But I prefer it in the summer. It is more than 100 years old they told me. You can just imagine all the things that had happened all this years. It probably will stand there after I am dead too.

An here we have my lovely roses, they make my summer, every year. Oh I miss the summer!
