Church today and yesterday

Look at this photo, taken some days ago in 2014, is a picture of the road to the church, Östuna kyrka, outside Uppsala.

And here is a photo from over 100 years ago. It is some differences but the church looks more or less the same.

The trees are a lot bigger and you see the church in the old photo. The old dirt road is gone in the new photo as you can see, thanks for that!

Old postcard

Found this old postcard in a shop, with the lady and a young artist painting her.

But I have more old things from old magazines or old newspapers.

Like this ad - for men that would like to have more muscles - in just 7 days. Shure....

And then we have this page with a lot of different ads. Fun stuff!

Old things

I just love old things, like these lovely plates, just staying there on a shelf. Not really dishwasher friendly but what the h-ck!

I go to flea markets and antique shops regulary, do not buy things to often, but I like to watch and make a great bargain when I can.

Here is something I actually have in my possession, a jug in ceramic, by Stig Lindberg in his design-series Berså. I got this one after my late mother, as a child I used it daily, now it's an antique to save.

Old doors

Love these old wooden doors that you can see here in the picture, and there is a lot of them. Probably used to be on an old mansion here in Sweden.

And there is also an old lamp, in glass and brass. You can se that in the upper left corner, handing from the roof.

Just an old painting

And here is one old painting I have on my wall, not shure who did it, just that it's not that valuable. But I really like it.

The painting reminds me about the old murals in some of the houses in the ancient city Pompeii, in Italy, just outside Naples. A roman city that was totally destroyed by an vulcano eruption - Vesuvio.

A foggy day

No sun today, it was instead a really foggy day. Could not see clearly but the landscape as always is beautiful.

Here you have a misty old park, almost a little scary, mystic and spooky. But I sure love it! Remember, yesterday was the All Saints day! Wrote about that here:

And here you have a piece of the foggy scenery that I saw under my sunday walk.

Door handle

Is this beautiful or what, an antique door handle that you can find on a old door at a house here in Sweden. The house itself is from around 1760.

But the door knob is more recent, shaped like an fantasy animal of some kind.

I think it is beautiful - even if it's not supposed to look lite that, I know.

Here you can se one of the apple trees in my garden with their blossoms:

Honestly I am not shure this is really magic, but It feels like magic when I sit down in my livingroom and ligt up a candle and some incence, it's smells so good.

My home is filled with old things, gift's from my family during the years, other stuff bought at markets.

Old glass decanters

I have a small collection of antique glass decanters. I think they are so beautiful that they deserve to stay in the open, not hidden away in a cupboard.

As you can see I placed most of them on a antique tray made om mirror glass. I use them too, for decanting wine and to serve water in at nicer dinner parties.

The old oak tree and roses

Now when the winter is coming any day now, it's cold but not snowy yet, I start to think about all the nice tings of summer.

Like this beautiful old oak tree. I take my walks here and watch it all the seasons. But I prefer it in the summer. It is more than 100 years old they told me. You can just imagine all the things that had happened all this years. It probably will stand there after I am dead too.

An here we have my lovely roses, they make my summer, every year. Oh I miss the summer!
