Love my table by Frédéric Iriarte

Is this fun or what!?
Have this colorful coffee table in my livingroom now, just between my sofas, do you like it as much as I do?

It is really fun and colorful. Made in wood, and with a glass top, by French artist Frederic Iriarte, now living here in Sweden. A bit of Pop Art, maybe?

Painting by Edvard Friström

Some years ago I bought this painting in a shop, without knowing anything about the artist. Now I know he is known as Clas Edvard Friström, or Edward Fristrom, born in Sweden 1864, but he moved abroad and became a famous painter in New Zealand.

He then moved again with his family, wife and their children, to the USA, where he died 1950, in California. My painting in watercolor is probably made in Sweden, it is a view of Kalmar Castle.

A Close up on the signature, Edward Fristrom.

My own work in oil

Strange it is, but it iI have painted this face. Not my mother, but probably can see that. It is nowhere close to my mothers art. She was the talanted one with the oils and watercolors.

The reason I difd this was a competition at my workplace, Svensk Damtidning, some years ago. All of us had to do a portrait of a famous Swedish artist Barbro Lill Babs Svensson. This was my entry.
Here is a photo of her, if you are interested from site I work at:

I do have art from some other artists than my mother Gunvor. Like this one in rusty metal that stands in my garden during the summer.

It is an italian artist - from Naples - Lino Ajello that made it, he also have one bigger that was a decoration in a restaurant in Stockholm over 10 years ago.

Praying

My mother Gunvor did -as I told you before - some religious work during her active years. Now she is gone but I always will remember her - like this - thru her work.

This is a nun praying, a really wounderful piece, carved in wood that she found here in the countryside where she used to live.

And this is another carved piece of wood, I see it like the face of Christ. This one is not completed, it had to be refined, but I like it as it is really.
