Red pepper is a very common spice in India and there is a lot of people selling it everywhere. Like this man on a strret in Goa.
And it's a lot of it, as you can see here in the pic from Cansaulim.
And here is a lady that came to a "shop" where they can polish their rice so they can either use it themselves or sell it to others on the market.
I live in Sweden and write for a living, as a journalist and writer. In this blog I talk about my mother Gunvor's work as an artist, my travel around the world and a lot more.

Street view in Goa
This is another picture from Cansaulim in south Goa, a street in that little Indian "town".
Always a bit of smoke in the air that comes from all the fire's that is going on everywhere. To burn all their garbage...
And then we have a little shop that also is a "tea house" or a bar, where you can have a cup of tea or a soda while shopping.

An Indian curry
Love, love the Indian food, curries and all the rest. At my hotel Heritage Village in Goa we had a delicious buffet with a lot of veggie dishes.
Here is one - an indian "dals" from the buffet. Vegetarian and very, very spicy and good.
And here is my plate another day, with a lot of Indian goodies.

Fish & Meat
Fishmarket and a butcher, here you have some other pictures from the little "town" of Cansaulim in Goa, India.
First one is a small fish market where some local women sell the fish that there husbands got during the early morning.
And then we have a local butcher, look at the head he has to sell....

Walking in Cansauilm
When in Goa you have to see a bit of the normal indian life, and one day I walkes to the little "town" of Cansaulim in south Goa.
Here is one scene from a busy street in Cansaulim. People going and coming to the market to sell or by goods.
Here in one sign from that street, a shop - a pork stall - that only sell corruption free.

Santa is still in Goa
Here is what I found during one walk in south of Goa in India, a Santa. In January he is still around.
He looks happy, but he is in a very sunny spot. Not at all like the North Pole...
And here is another photo of Goa, my hotel Heritage Village club, and a glimpse of their pool.

Green Goa
It's not only nice beaches an warm sea in Goa, there is also a lot of lovely nature to explore. Just outside my hotel you could walk in this green forrest, or djungle.
And then another photo of the beach, in another direction - to the south. Not so many people here.
Leaving footprints in the sand. Walking in the sun - in India.

Back from India
Just came back from a very relaxing holiday in India. I have spent a week in south Goa. Sunny, hot and interesting.
Here is a pic of the beach just close to my hotel. A lot of sand, hot sea water and almost empty. But in the end of the beach was a terribly ugly factory or industrial plant, you can hardly see it in the photo.
So I give you another pic from India, a beautiful sunset. With palm trees and a red big sun going down in the sea.

Stockholm in the evening
It's not that fun in Stockholm these days, I mean when you talk about the weather.... Some days it's really cold with a lot of snow, other days just windy and rainy.
This is a photo looking at Sergels torg, one evening. The Christmas light's is still on and make the dark a little lighter.

Christmas is over now
This is the day we here in Sweden get rid of the Christmas tree and other things from the holidays. New year and new beginnings. Even if my family love all this really old things as you can see here.
So goodbye to Christmas for now, maybe even I will get a tree next year, not just some bransches with lights in them as you remember....

Baking bread
I have been baking bread - called fröknäcke - some days ago. Love this crispbread with sunflower seeds, esame seeds and salt on the top. It's very simple to make and don't take long.
I make it with wheat flour and rye, yeast, salt and water. It's important to roll out the bread very thin before baking it, then roll in the seeds and salt. Take about 15 minutes in the owen.

New Year 2013 - new things and old
Today is the first day of 2013 - and I look back at yesterday, a nice evening with family and friends.
A candle lit dinner, new exiting food and eating it close to old family portraits. Thats really nice.
An old relative is looking at me from this painting, isn't he? Hope he likes what he saw?
