Christmas i Stockholm

Hope you all have a nice Christmas, today it is the second of Advent. And I give you som pics from Sweden and Stockholm.

Here you can se one of the most exclusive shoppingstreets in the morning, Biblioteksgatan in Stockholm.

Every year the big department store NK have a new Christmas display in the windows for the children, this is the one 2016.

Here we are in Sergels torg, just outside Kulturhuset and close to Åhléns, another big department store.

Christmas is coming...

Here you have a lovely building in ceremic, made for a candle inside. The piece of art is from my mother Gunvor.

Street in Stockholm

This is one of the street I pass every day to go to work, Jakobsbergsgatan in Stockholm.

I'ts a hanging flower basket - one of many this summer here in Sweden.

And then another summer flower, a big yellow sunflower close to home.

At Hötorget in Stockholm

Must share this pic from Hötorget in Stockholm, where they sell flowers and fruit, among other fresh things. It is always nice to walk around here and bou fresh wegetables and berries.

Now it's time for raspberries and strawberries. Good price for the flowers and fruit too, especially if you come at Saturday before closing time.

And then I give you one photo from my garden wit lovely white flowers with a lot of perfume.

Postcards from Stockholm

Just a little photo from Stockholm, with some of the postcards that are on sale in a shop at Norrmalmstorg.

You can see a lot af postcards of Stockholm of course, but also with our royals, like Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel and their daughter Princess Estelle.

Happy Easter to you all!

This is so Swedish around the time for Easter - twigs with colored feathers. These are from a flower stall in Stockholm that sold them some day's ago.

With these photos I hope you will have a wounderful Easter with family and friends. Or all by yourself if you prefer that!

Stockholm in the evening

It's not that fun in Stockholm these days, I mean when you talk about the weather.... Some days it's really cold with a lot of snow, other days just windy and rainy.

This is a photo looking at Sergels torg, one evening. The Christmas light's is still on and make the dark a little lighter.

Stockholm - street with Christmas lights

This is Stockholm just now - with the Christmas lights hanging in the shopping streets and snow in the streets.

The first one here is a tree decorated with lights in white and moving ones in blue.

And the second one below is outside a shopping mall calles Mood, a place I pass daily to work. Christmas decorations everywhere really.

Now it's time for some Christmans decorations in the sity, here you have a shopping street in the centre of Stockholm, looking down at Sergelgatan.

It's cold and snowy now and you can almost feel the Christmas spirit. More to come...

Today at Östermalmshallen

This is today, at the food court with a lot of history, Östermalmshallen in Stockholm. Just in inte middle of the town, it is rather expensive to shop here, but they have magnificent food.

Here you can see the fish and seafood stand at one of the vendors.  Happy Thanksgioving!

Going on holiday

It all starts with a good breakfast, a 10 days I went on a well deserved holiday, back home now and ready to write all about it. And the photo here is from the airport of Stockholm, Arlanda at the time for breakfast.

Cookies and cakes can really make a wonderful start of the day, or is it...? And where I am going this time? To Thailand and the island of Phuket. More photos will come later.

Tea with a view

Just imagine to be here - and sit in one of the chairs for a afternoon tea, by the lake.

It's peacful and with a beautiful view of the waters, just an half hour outside Stockholm.

River run wild in Uppsala

More photo's from Uppsala. This Fyris river runs wild in the central parts of Uppsala. This photo is taken some weeks ago, in summer. Boats can still sail up the river from lake Mälaren.

And this is a piece of the more modern Uppsala, the department store Åhlens.

It is not beautiful, but a famous, or infamous, part of the modern architecture in the city center.

At Knivsta station

From the beautiful country of Malta to my little "town" of Knivsta here in Sweden. It is not really where I live but it is where I was brought up and went to school.

This little house on the photo is the old station house. Not in use anymore, but just for the moment is is used as a brewery of a very local beer, Train Station Brewery. But the train passes as usual, to Stockholm or to Uppsala.

By the water

Some days ago I was at the Krusenberg slott, a castle outside Knivsta, close to the water. The same water that brings you all the way in to Stockholm and then to the big sea.

Krusenberg is now a nice hotel.  This above is - a jetty - where you arrive at when travelling with a boat. Something I did not, I used my car.

Here is another scene from the same place, beautiful isn't it? It was a little to cold for me to take a bath, but the waters are clean.

Eat in Stockholm

Eat in Stockholm - it's a new restaurant ine the Swedish capital, it is inside the shopping Mall "Mood", it is a Asian style place with both cheaper lunches and more expensive dinners.

Then you have this Tapas bar and restaurant Boqueria in the same place, you could eat just a bite here, and drink some good Cava with it. This place is still in the mall "Mood".

I pass Mood every day on my way to - and - from work, and took some photos for you.

After lunch

Some days ago, we - my colleagues at work, all of us from Svensk Damtidning - ate at restaurant Pontus! at Brunnsgatan 1 here in Stockholm.

We had big plates of seafood for lunch, with champagne. This is what it looked like after lunch...

House on house

Isn't this fun! It is some house's on to of another house here in Stockholm, on Mäster Samuelsgatan. It is on top of the shoppingmall Mood.

I have heard you can rent the small houses for coferences and meetings.

Eating out

I do lunch out every day when I am at work, normally just close by my office and just för a short time. It cost me around 100 Skr, that is about 12 Euro.

But sometimes I take a little bit longer lunches, like this time when I had a lovely long lunch at Sturehof in Stockholm, at Stureplan.

Smoking statue

Smoking kills, you could end up like this!!! If you look closely you can see a lit cigarette in one hand.

The sitting man is placed at Hötorget, just outside PUB department store. The same store where Greta Garbo once worked.
