Looking at some windows

Here you have three different windows from old buildings here in Sweden, the first one is from an old barn that is in ruins.

And this one here is also an old barn, but half of it is still standing, with a roof.

It was used to be a an imposing building, built over 200 years ago, painted in red, Falu rödfärg.

Here you have an old, smaller house that now is falling apart, the window give you a glimpse of what is behind the building too.

Candle now inside the house

Just some days ago I wrote about my late mother Gunvors art - this time a little building that was made for a candle.

Here it is again, the house is made of ceramic and glass. Now with a candle inside.

And if you have not seen it before I show it again, in day light.

This is a lovely building made by my mother in ceramic and glass, it is made like a candle holder.

You just lift it up and plce one of them on the plate. And then you have a very nice piece of art - by my late mother Gunvor.

Renovation project

Here you can see a house here in Sweden that is undergoing a renovation, the red parts with the old timber is from 1800-hundreds.

The old "faluröda" red colored timber was below the newer yellow panels that's from the beginning of the 1900-hundreds.

Now they are isolating the house, so the cold winters can be a little less cold.

More from Phuket

Here you have to more photos from Phuket in Thailand. The first photo is from Kamala Beach and show us a hair salon in one of the streets behind the beach.

Love the color on the house, and all the flowers otside, upstairs and downstairs.

And this one is a beautiful temple, still at Kamala beach, just close to the sea.

Red house in the green

I don't know what these big plants are called, but they shure cover up the whole house in the pictures.

It is always sad to see a ruin of a house, but in some way it's also very beautiful. The green plants that has taken over the red house.

On this photo they almost going inside the door.

At Knivsta station

From the beautiful country of Malta to my little "town" of Knivsta here in Sweden. It is not really where I live but it is where I was brought up and went to school.

This little house on the photo is the old station house. Not in use anymore, but just for the moment is is used as a brewery of a very local beer, Train Station Brewery. But the train passes as usual, to Stockholm or to Uppsala.

House on fire

Maybe you have seen this art piece before her on my blog, but I really love this "painting" made of fabric, by my late mother Gunvor.

She made it after my house burned down - now almost 10 years ago. I lost almost everything in this summerhouse, but my mom found a poster on the ground, it was winter and very cold, so she took it, and some other stuff, like burned clothes and used these things to make this "painting".
Love it!!

Door handle

Is this beautiful or what, an antique door handle that you can find on a old door at a house here in Sweden. The house itself is from around 1760.

But the door knob is more recent, shaped like an fantasy animal of some kind.

Ruins can be beautiful

I admit, ruins can in some strange way appeal to me, it has that feeling of times passed and that everyting has and end. Sad but interesting, ruins can really be beautiful.

Like these photos from a house in old wood here in the Swedish country side.

A window.

And an Italian view

Some weeks ago I was in Italy, in Le Marche and Abruzzo, for a holiday. But also for something very different - to look for a house to buy.

One of the houses I looked at had this view from one of the windows. Unfortunately that was the only good point the Italian cottage had.

It was more or less a ruin, close to another ruin, not included in the price. Anyhow, it was an amazing journey.

We also visited the closest town, Amandola. It was small but very nice, you can look at one street here.

My mother Gunvor's art work

I just came to think of her again, as I often do, my late mother Gunvor who died more than a year ago. But even if she is not here on earth no more - her art works still are. She was amazing at working with ceramics, and water colour and all the rest.
Here is some of her works, for you to see.

This is a torso of ceramics, even if it looks like wood.

And here is a scuplture in rusty iron, called "What are we doin'g with the earth!"

This is a work of art that I love som much, is made from stuff my mother found in the ashes of my house that burned down. She made it from fabrics she found in the snow, and it shows my home in flames. I is so beautiful, even if it was an horrific experience.

And here is an oil painting of the back yard of her home, a sunny day in Sweden.

And here she is my lovely mother Gunvor. Miss you!
Another day I will put even more of her works, love them all.

Talking TV

I just love to watch TV since I was a kid. For the moment I actually prefer to watch TV in the comfort of my home, then going out to watch a movie.
And these days there are so many good shows on TV. The one's I watch just now are Burn Notice, In Plain Sight, Royal Pains, The Mentalist, NCIS, Two and a half men, House, Lie To Me and some reality-shows like Project Runway and Americas Next Top Model and talk shows like Oprah and Ellen.

Just now I try to write on of my own, but it is really much more difficult than one can think. Once upon a time a was an actor and did both stage and film/TV. Not much, and I was not good enough and did not have enough stamina to continue, but it was a good place to learn abot the craft. And that really comes in handy when you write a good dialogue. So I will really try...
